An Outer Approximation Method for Scheduling Elective Surgeries with Sequence Dependent Setup Times to Multiple Operating Rooms

In this paper, operating room planning and scheduling problems have been studied. planning, the allocation of patients to rooms their sequencing are critical in determining performance rooms. three surgery decisions considered, including number open, surgeries rooms, allocated All under consideration elective, durations considered deterministic. Further, it is that different specialties, each can accommodate a particular specialty surgeries, i.e., heterogeneous current study. Before performing surgery, setup time required for turnover sterilization, sequence dependent. A mixed integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) model developed minimize overtime costs with dependent times. An outer approximation (OA) method proposed solve problem near optimally. Experiments conducted compare OA standard model. Computational results show efficiency method. Later, case data from hospital collected study solved.
